Holy Rosary Church Wedding Timeline


8-12 months prior to the wedding

1.      Send Marriage Inquiry Form to Matthew Lydick. Once a file is started for you, we will reach out.

2.      Reserve your date and time with the church (requires a $500.00 security deposit).

3.      Confirm that your celebrant is available for the date & time that has been reserved.


6-9 months prior to the wedding

1.      Begin marriage preparation with clergy or lay pastoral assistant. Typically, we start with a pre-marriage inventory called FOCCUS. You will have 4-6 sessions based on the inventory, as well as additional sessions to cover the theology of marriage and other topics with the person doing your marriage preparation.

2.      Whomever is leading your marriage preparation will help guide you through the necessary steps, including any retreats or programs in which you might need to participate.

3.      Sign up for an NFP class.


6 months prior

1.      Request your baptismal certificate with notations from your church of Baptism. If the church of Baptism does not have your notations, you must contact church(es) of First Communion and Confirmation to request those certificates.


3 months prior

1.      Set up a music consultation with the Director of Music.

2.      Obtain your marriage license (less than 90 days and more than 72 hours before wedding day).


2 months prior

1.      Receive your contract and final invoice from the parish.

2.      Meet with celebrant to fill out the Wedding Liturgy Form (in the contract packet).

3.      Request that vendors fill out Vendor Rules Addendum (in the contract packet).

4.      Finalize music (send all requests to the Music Director for approval). Once all music has been approved, you may print programs.


1 month prior

1.      Final payments must be made.

2.      Contract and vendor forms must be signed and sent to Matthew Lydick.

3.      Reach out to day-of coordinator with any day-of questions.


Rehearsal day

1.      Meet clergy and day-of coordinator at the church for rehearsal.

2.      Bring your marriage license.

3.      Ask any lingering questions.

4.      Get excited!!


Wedding Day

FOCUS ON THE SACRAMENT

All of your hard work and preparation is done. You have chosen someone to make sure policies are followed and that the church is cleaned up; the coordinator will make sure your vendors know where to go; the clergy will lead you through the Nuptial Mass/Wedding Ceremony. Relax, and enjoy this beautiful celebration with your spouse, family, and friends!
