Children’s Faith Formation (grades PreK-8) Volunteer Information

Scripture
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  (Matthew 19:14)

Mission Statement
Faith Formation leads students to a knowledge of Jesus Christ, helps them grow in love for Him, instructs them in the ways Jesus teaches us to live a moral life, and models for them how to become His disciples.

Ministry Description
Volunteers 18 year and older must complete an online training seminar entitled CMG Connect, and then pass a criminal background check before volunteering with children or youth.

Faith Formation volunteers must love children and desire to help them know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.

Catechists are volunteers who teach or assist in a classroom or other formal setting.  All catechists with Holy Rosary’s Faith Formation program must commit to the Church’s liturgical and sacramental life, and obey her moral teachings.  Catechists need a basic understanding of Catholic teaching, Scripture, and Tradition.  They desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and to share that relationship with young children.  Catechists will 1) be present for every session, and 2) attend Holy Rosary’s catechist training workshops.

We welcome volunteers under the age of 18 as well.  Please contact Lucas Nino at (713) 529-4854, ext. 105 to help determine where the gifts and talents God has given you best brings joy to the you and the children you will serve.
